The Norwegian collier SS Storstad showing damage sustained in collision with [RMS Empress of Ireland](https://www.worldhistory.org/RMS_Empress_of_Ireland/) on 29 May 1914. The Storstad struck the Empress amidships cutting a 16-foot gash in her hull and sinking her in under fourteen minutes.
