Boethius' *The Consolation of Philosophy* was very influential in the scholarship of the European Middle Ages. He wrote that in the style of a dialogue between himself and Philosophy, embodied by a woman. Later. Medieval Universities taught the Seven Liberal Arts as enumerated here.
