## Image Caption

The [Temple](https://www.worldhistory.org/temple/), situated in the Forum, was dedicated to the goddess [Roma](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Roma/) and the Emperor [Augustus](https://www.worldhistory.org/augustus/). It was constructed between the year 2 BCE and 14 CE. The frieze of floral motives on the architrave is continued around the temple. On its frontal side, the architrave carries the inscription that reads: ROMAE ET AVGUSTO CAESARI DIVI FILIO PATRI PATRIAE.
