## Image Caption

The Small [Roman](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Roman/) [Theatre](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/theatre/) of Pula in Croatia could accommodate about 1,000 spectators and was situated within the [city](https://www.worldhistory.org/city/) walls on the eastern slopes of the central hill of the town, a few hundred metres from the larger one. Only its reconstructed foundations are visible today, including the *proscene*, the semicircular orchestra, and semicircular tiered *cavea* (audience seating area).
