## Image Caption

The [Roman Forum](https://www.worldhistory.org/Roman_Forum/) of Dion in Macedonia ([Greece](https://www.worldhistory.org/greece/)) was built over the top of the [Hellenistic](https://www.worldhistory.org/Hellenic_World/) [agora](https://www.worldhistory.org/agora/) in the late 2nd century CE. The new forum consisted of a rectangular paved courtyard measuring 58 x 68 metres (190 x 223 ft). The [Roman](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Roman/) Basilica formed the eastern border of the forum.
