## Image Caption

A replica of the enamelled [gold](https://www.worldhistory.org/gold/) armlet presented to [Queen Victoria](https://www.worldhistory.org/Queen_Victoria/) (r. 1837-1901) in 1850 after its acquisition from the Punjab following the Anglo-Sikh Wars (1845-49). The central stone was the [Koh-i-Noor](https://www.worldhistory.org/Koh-i-Noor/) diamond, which the queen had recut as an oval brilliant. The stone is now part of the [British Crown Jewels](https://www.worldhistory.org/British_Crown_Jewels/) and kept in the [Tower of London](https://www.worldhistory.org/Tower_of_London/).
