Photo of the Cathedral of St. Peter in Worms, Germany c. 1890-1906. Construction on the cathedral began in 1018. It has hosted a number of historical events, including the Concordat of Worms in 1122 and [Martin Luther](https://www.worldhistory.org/Martin_Luther/)’s defense at the [Diet of Worms](https://www.worldhistory.org/Diet_of_Worms/) in 1521.
