This richly decorated [Sasanian](https://www.worldhistory.org/Sasanian_Empire/) sword and scabbard was produced in 7th Century CE. The Sasanians adopted this style of sword from the [Huns](https://www.worldhistory.org/Huns/), a nomadic people who came into conflict with the [Sasanian Empire](https://www.worldhistory.org/Sasanian_Empire/) in the 5th Century CE.
