## Image Caption

A partially reconstructed Romano-[Celtic](https://www.worldhistory.org/celt/) sanctuary stands on the Martberg plateau above the town of Pommern in western Germany. Lenus [Mars](https://www.worldhistory.org/Mars/), a Celtic healing [god](https://www.worldhistory.org/God/), was worshipped in the main [temple](https://www.worldhistory.org/temple/) and many sick people came to be cured, as votive offerings indicate.
