[John Alden](https://www.worldhistory.org/John_Alden/) memorial stone, Plymouth, MA. John Alden (l. c. 1598-1687 CE) was a member of the crew of the [Mayflower](https://www.worldhistory.org/Mayflower/), one of the more prominent members of the [Plymouth Colony](https://www.worldhistory.org/Plymouth_Colony/), who also participated in the founding of the nearby settlement of Duxbury, Massachusetts.
