Pilgrim Hall Museum, Plymouth, MA Edward Winslow was one of the passengers of the [Mayflower](https://www.worldhistory.org/Mayflower/) voyage of 1620 CE and a prominent member of the Plymouth Colony of Massachusetts (1620-1691 CE). He served as governor of the colony three times, negotiated the peace treaty with the neighboring [Native Americans](https://www.worldhistory.org/Native_Peoples_of_North_America/), and participated in a number of other significant events which helped strengthen the relationship between colonists and natives in New [England](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/england/). He is best known for his written works chronicling the early years of the colony.
