## Image Caption

A photorealistic representation of what the [Roman emperor](https://www.worldhistory.org/Roman_Emperor/) [Augustus](https://www.worldhistory.org/augustus/) (r. 27 BCE-14 CE) may have looked like as a young man. Pictured alongside the reconstruction are the busts and statuary used as references. From left to right and top to bottom these are the Augustus of Prima Porta; the [Pergamum](https://www.worldhistory.org/pergamon/) Museums bust; the Via Labicana Augustus; and the British Museum's marble bust. Based on contemporary and near contemporary descriptions, as well as archaeological evidence such as the Augustus of Prima Porta and various other busts. Made using Photoshop and Artbreeder, a neural net tool.
