## Image Caption

A [fresco](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Fresco/) from the throne room of the [Palace](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/palace/) of Nestor at [Pylos](https://www.worldhistory.org/Pylos/), often referred to as the '[Orpheus](https://www.worldhistory.org/Orpheus/) Fresco' depicts a seated [lyre](https://www.worldhistory.org/Lyre/) player and a bird in flight. It dates to c. 1300 BCE and this watercolour reconstruction was completed by Piet de Jong. The fresco is housed at the Archaeological Museum of Chora.
