Gilded [bronze](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/bronze/) scenes from the [Bible](https://www.worldhistory.org/bible/). The artist [Michelangelo](https://www.worldhistory.org/Michelangelo/) gave them the nickname the 'Gates of Paradise' such was the craftsmanship evident in their production.
