The Galatea [nymph](https://www.worldhistory.org/nymph/) [fresco](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Fresco/) by the Italian Renaissance artist [Raphael](https://www.worldhistory.org/Raphael/) (1483-1520 CE). Completed in 1512 CE, the work is part of a series of frescoes with a mythological theme painted by Raphael in [Rome](https://www.worldhistory.org/Rome/)’s Villa Farnesina.
