## Image Caption

The Fountain of Pollio at [Ephesus](https://www.worldhistory.org/ephesos/) was built in 97 CE by C. S. Pollio, in memory of Sextillius Pollio, the builder of the famous [aqueduct](https://www.worldhistory.org/aqueduct/) which carried water to all the fountains in the [city](https://www.worldhistory.org/city/). In the years following the initial construction, an arch and several statues were added to decorate the original structure.
