A 1st century CE portrait of the [Greek](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/greek/) blind poet Homer, celebrated author of the *[Iliad](https://www.worldhistory.org/iliad/)* and *[Odyssey](https://www.worldhistory.org/Odyssey/)*.
