In 1485 CE at the [Battle of Bosworth](https://www.worldhistory.org/Battle_of_Bosworth/), [Richard III of England](https://www.worldhistory.org/Richard_III_of_England/) (r. 1483-85 CE) was defeated and killed while the victor Henry Tudor became [Henry VII of England](https://www.worldhistory.org/Henry_VII_of_England/) (r. 1485-1509 CE).
