## Image Caption

The interior of the so-called College of the Augustales in [Herculaneum](https://www.worldhistory.org/Herculaneum/). The building has often been associated with the presence of the imperial cult in Herculaneum, but it might just as well be a meeting place for the town council, the local Curia or Senate House. It is richly decorated with fourth styles frescoes depicting scenes from the life of [Hercules](https://www.worldhistory.org/hercules/).
