This is a [sculpture](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Sculpture/) found in the [temple](https://www.worldhistory.org/temple/) of Konarak, Odisha state, [India](https://www.worldhistory.org/india/). It shows a warrior standing alongside a warhorse. Now headless, he sports a scabbard down his back, while a quiver full of arrows is seen tied to the saddle. The horse is seen crushing one figure holding a sword under his hoofs, while another lies below his body. The horse is richly caparisoned with intricately carved details. The [Konark Sun Temple](https://www.worldhistory.org/Konarak_Sun_Temple/) was built in the 13th century CE (around 1250 CE) by King Narasimhadeva I (1238 – 1264 CE) of the Eastern [Ganga](https://www.worldhistory.org/Ganges/) dynasty (8th century CE - 15th century CE).
