## Image Caption

[Coin](https://www.worldhistory.org/coinage/) issued by Emperor [Chandragupta II](https://www.worldhistory.org/Chandragupta_II/) (c. 375-413/14) of the [Gupta](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/gupta/) dynasty.

[Chandragupta](https://www.worldhistory.org/Chandragupta_Maurya/) is depicted wearing a waistcloth with a sash flying behind along with some jewellery (armlets, necklace and earrings). He holds a bow in his left hand and is riding a caparisoned horse.
The name of the emperor is mentioned in [Sanskrit](https://www.worldhistory.org/Sanskrit/) as Shri Chandraguptah. The coin was minted in this style to show his prowess and might as a warrior and conqueror.
