This Dish or drinking cup is part of the so-called "Hildesheim Silver Treasure" and depicts a medallion of a seated figure of Athena/Minerva wearing a triple-crested helmet. The Hildesheim silver treasure, consisting of more than 70 pieces, is one of the most substantial and qualitatively valuable treasure troves of antiquity. It represents a luxurious dinner service consisting of magnificent vessels, dining, and drinking tableware. Most certainly, this table service was produced in Italy. Silver, partly gilded, niello. Found in 1868 CE in Hildesheim, Germany. 1st century BCE to 1st century CE. It is on display at the Altes Museum in Berlin, Germany.
