## Image Caption

This torso, amended to resemble the statue of the Capitoline [Antinous](https://www.worldhistory.org/antinous/) in [Rome](https://www.worldhistory.org/Rome/), belongs to a series of ancient copies of the so-called "Omphalos [Apollo](https://www.worldhistory.org/apollo/)". This famous [Greek](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/greek/) original from around 460 BCE is preserved in several ancient copies. Some of them convey the related head type. Marble. Found in the River Tiber near Rome, [Italy](https://www.worldhistory.org/italy/) in 1744 CE. Roan copy, c. 130 CE. It is on display at the Altes Museum in Berlin, Germany.
