This limestone statue of the [Egyptian](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Egyptian/) [pharaoh](https://www.worldhistory.org/pharaoh/) [Akhenaten](https://www.worldhistory.org/Akhenaten/) is not finished. The surface is still rough and there are remnants of red and black preliminary drawings. Akhenaten wears the blue crown of [Egypt](https://www.worldhistory.org/egypt/) and holds a sacrificial plate. Purchased in 1992 CE. From [Amarna](https://www.worldhistory.org/Amarna/), House 48.18, Egypt. [New Kingdom](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/New_Kingdom/), 18th Dynasty, c. 1340 BCE. It is on display at the Neues Museum, Berlin, Germany.
