A Chinese ink painting of a [Mongol](https://www.worldhistory.org/Mongol_Empire/) rider with a horse and camel. The painting was produced by an unidentified artist c. 1271–1368, when [China](https://www.worldhistory.org/china/) was ruled by the Mongolian [Yuan Dynasty](https://www.worldhistory.org/Yuan_Dynasty/) established by [Kublai Khan](https://www.worldhistory.org/Kublai_Khan/). Ink and color on [silk](https://www.worldhistory.org/Silk/). 30 x 31 cm (12 x 12 in). From China, now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY.
