The Lion of [Babylon](https://www.worldhistory.org/babylon/) (أسد بابل), a stone [sculpture](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Sculpture/) found in the ancient [city](https://www.worldhistory.org/city/) of Babylon, modern-day Iraq in 1876. It may have been built by either [Nebuchadnezzar II](https://www.worldhistory.org/Nebuchadnezzar_II/) (605-562 BCE) or the [Hittites](https://www.worldhistory.org/hittite/) (notice the absence of "eagle's wings"). Photograph taken in 1932 CE.
