The Warrior of Vachères (or Le Guerrier de Vachères) is a Gallo-[Roman](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Roman/) statue of a soldier. The soldier wears a [Celtic torc](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Celtic_Torc/) necklace, and has a long oval shield, making his identity as a [Roman Gaul](https://www.worldhistory.org/Roman_Gaul/) unmistakeable. He also wears a chainmail shirt and cloak, and has a sword on his hip. It was made in the Augustean period, sometime between the late 1st Century BCE and the early 1st Century CE. The statue was found in Vachères, Alpes de Haute-Provence, France. It is on display in the Calvet Museum in Avignon, France.
