## Image Caption

This limestone plaque depicts two figures in relief. [Cuneiform](https://www.worldhistory.org/cuneiform/) inscriptions appear at the upper part. It was excavated by the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago in the early 1930s, 3rd season. The plaque dates back to the [Early Dynastic](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Early_Dynastic/) period, c. 2400 BCE. From Khafajah (ancient Tutub), Iraq. The Oriental Institute's "Lost Treasures from Iraq" website gives it "unknown status" (after the ransacking of the Iraq Museum in April 2003). However, it is on display at the Iraq Museum in Baghdad, Republic of Iraq.
