The stele was found at Tell [Abu](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Abu/) Sheeja, north of modern-day Amarah [city](https://www.worldhistory.org/city/), Maysan Governorate, Iraq. The Old [Akkadian](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/akkadian/) [cuneiform](https://www.worldhistory.org/cuneiform/) inscription on the left side of the viewer mentions the name of the city of Pašime. Pašime lies western to the ancient city of [Susa](https://www.worldhistory.org/susa/), in modern-day Iran. Tell Abu Sheeja was probably named after its main deity, Shuda (Šuda), an [Elamite](https://www.worldhistory.org/elam/) deity. The stele was dedicated by Ilšu-rabi (governor or Pašime) to the [god](https://www.worldhistory.org/God/) Šuda. The stele dates to the reign of the Akkadian king Manishtushu, 2270 - 2255 BCE. The stele was excavated in 2007 CE, the first excavation season at Tell Abu Sheeja. On display at the Iraq Museum in Baghdad, Republic of Iraq.
