Temple of Apollo Pythios in Gortyn Download Full Size Image

The Temple of Apollo Pythios was the main sanctuary of pre-Roman Gortyn. It was built in the 7th century BCE and was restored and enlarged during the Hellenistic period whilst alterations and additions were made during the Roman period.
