## Image Caption

View of the restored part of the South [Propylon](https://www.worldhistory.org/Propylaea/) at [Knossos](https://www.worldhistory.org/knossos/) ([Crete](https://www.worldhistory.org/crete/)), decorated with copies of parts of the Procession [Fresco](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Fresco/). This Propylon formed the south entrance to the [palace](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/palace/). The pairs of columns with their corresponding parapets supported the beams of the ceiling, which formed a rectangular opening with a raised roof.
