A marble bust of King [Ptolemy of Mauretania](https://www.worldhistory.org/Ptolemy_of_Mauretania/) (c. 10 BCE - c. 40 CE). [Ptolemy](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Ptolemy/) was the son of [Juba II](https://www.worldhistory.org/Juba_II/) and [Cleopatra Selene II](https://www.worldhistory.org/Cleopatra_Selene_II/), making him a descendant of both the [Berber](https://www.worldhistory.org/Berbers/) rulers of Numidia and the [Ptolemaic dynasty](https://www.worldhistory.org/Ptolemaic_Dynasty/) of [Egypt](https://www.worldhistory.org/egypt/). Through his mother, Ptolemy of [Mauretania](https://www.worldhistory.org/Mauretania/) was the only surely attested grandson of [Cleopatra VII](https://www.worldhistory.org/Cleopatra_VII/) of Egypt and [Mark Antony](https://www.worldhistory.org/Mark_Antony/).
