## Image Caption

On the north-west frontier of the [Roman Empire](https://www.worldhistory.org/Roman_Empire/), the [Antonine wall](https://www.worldhistory.org/Antonine_Wall/) was built c. 140 CE on the orders of [Antoninus Pius](https://www.worldhistory.org/Antoninus_Pius/). The [wall](https://www.worldhistory.org/wall/) stretched from the Firth of Forth to the Clyde estuary.
