# Gupta Empire Coin: Kacha Type

This [coin](https://www.worldhistory.org/coinage/) issued by an emperor of the [Gupta](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/gupta/) dynasty (either [Samudragupta](https://www.worldhistory.org/Samudragupta/) or Kacha/Kachagupta) shows the King dressed in a [Scythian](https://www.worldhistory.org/Scythians/)-style coat, trousers and cap and Indian-style necklace and earrings with a halo around his head. He is holding a standard surmounted by wheel (chakra) in one hand. The legend "Kacha" is written beneath his arm as is "Kacho gam avajitya divam karmabhir uttamair jayati" or “Kacha, after conquering the earth, conquers heaven by means of good deeds”. The reverse has the legend Sarvarajochchhetta (“the exterminator/uprooter of all kings”) with the image of [Lakshmi](https://www.worldhistory.org/Lakshmi/), the [Hindu](https://www.worldhistory.org/hinduism/) goddess of prosperity.
