He wears an [Egyptian](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Egyptian/)-style *atef* crown and a shawl over a garment in the Aramaic-Syrian tradition. Both legs stand on a pedestal of the same stone type; the base has no inscriptions. The formal pose, crown, and dress indicate that this figure is either a king or a [god](https://www.worldhistory.org/God/); the unmarked pupils on this statue perhaps suggest the sleep of [death](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Death/) of a deified king.
