A [silk](https://www.worldhistory.org/Silk/) scroll painting by Shen Du depicting a giraffe given in tribute by King Saif Al-Din Hamzah Shah of Bengal to the [Yongle Emperor](https://www.worldhistory.org/Yongle_Emperor/) (r. 1403-1424 CE) of [China](https://www.worldhistory.org/china/)'s [Ming Dynasty](https://www.worldhistory.org/Ming_Dynasty/). The tribute was one of the many collected by Admiral Zheng He during his seven voyages of discovery made between 1405 and 1433 CE. (Philadelphia Museum of Art)
