About the Author

Fumi Yoshinaga is a Tokyo-born manga creator who debuted in 1994 with Tsuki to Sandaru (The Moon and the Sandals). Yoshinaga has won numerous awards, including the 2009 Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize for Ôoku, the 2002 Kodansha Manga Award for her series Antique Bakery and the 2006 Japan Media Arts Festival Excellence Award for Ôoku. She was also nominated for the 2008 Eisner Award for Best Writer/Artist.

This series was something I stumbled on and, from the description I read on the back of the book, I thought it was going to be more of a yuri type of manga (i.e. there are so few men left in the world and women are having to assume mens' positions in the world) so I was a little surprised when this turned out to be more of a hetero romance drama with a tiny bit of shonen-ai.

Each volume has been fantastic so far and I can't wait for the next! I highly recommend this series if you like drama with a bit of romance. Both the story and the artwork are very high quality.

Just like all the other volumes, Ooku #6 is beautiful, well written and all around a book you just can't put down. For those used to her male on male stories, there isn't any of that in this book, but the same smouldering dramatic and spicy love stories are there. I hope everyone will purchase this book and love it as much as I do.
