I'm so happy, I purchased and completed reading all the contents of Volume 1 of the Old Testament Pseudepigphra. Not only do I like been able to go through the missing books of the scriptures and extra books which have an interesting relation to the cannonical books. The author's introduction pages of each book provide details of text, original language, date, provenance, historical and theological importaance, relatioship to cannical and apocryphal books, and cultral importantce. His notes in each page takes workload off of the the etemology research readers who go into the Hebrew strongs to translate the writings to it early language of Aramaic since you will get more on some books such as Enoch and Testament of the 12 Patriarchs to name a few examples. In addition his notes give a heads up on some books having indication of Christainity doctrine tampering, hellenized tampering, and notes which contradictory surface when compared to the standard 81 books of certain accounts since as timing of events, age of figures in the scriptures, and bloodline relationships. This book involves alot of studying but is a worthwhile scholar journey.

This would be the 4 time since the 1980 I bought this book. I have volume 1 & 2 and have read volume 1..... 4 or 5 times. It changed my life especially the books of Enoch's NO MAN COULD WRITE THESE BOOK'S. The Life of Adam and Eve, WOW ...Testament of Solomon not for the faint of heart This book will shake you up I LOVED IT BECAUSE I BELIEVE IT...But very scary for most to see how the devil and his cohorts work.

I understand most people do not believe there is a devil but yet they do not know where there thoughts come from. They think its them because it's in there mind. Not knowing the fight is between good and evil and something GOOD OR EVIL IS ALWAYS WHISPERING in you mind. Your words and thoughts have power. You will follow one or the other. You will fight to get to heaven.

You can tell a man did not write this alone. A lot of Jewish info and Christian, but you need to know that some books in here are not true or real and have nothing to do with the Jewish/Christian God. That's why is called Pseudepigrapha because they mix some true books with fake books. I can tell you these books give me so much power and understanding on the Bible.I already knew the Bible very well and new it was true, but what these books did for me was put me in My Father God's Arms....and help me in the mad evil world, it helped me understand why so much evil is here and so much love.

These books are to be desired over the R.H. Charles books. For some time now I had been wanting to obtain the Testaments of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as well as a Complete Sybiline Oracles (usually not complete in other books - for example "The Other Bible"). I already had Vol 2. I would suggest both Vol. 1 & 2 to anyone interested in the subject who wants an excellent and nearly exhaustive grouping of the said texts. The only thing left to obtain after you have these volumes are rare Ethiopian/Slavonic/Armenian/Syrian/Coptic/Rabbinical texts that in most cases haven't been published in English yet, or are only contained in incredibly hard to find and out of print scholarly journals/collections. Very highly recommended.

just to say this book contains amongst it's many apocrypha, 3 Enoch, the translastion is good even if they drop a letter or two in the names (in my opinion). P Alexander uses the word "prostrate" instead of worship, when the angels payed honer to one higher then themselfs, which is very good as the lord says "worship The Lord and I alone". just the 3 Enoch section has really good bonus stuff, like it is acompanyed with the acencsetion of Moses, and its forward is execelent giving you a history of the work. on another subject, i feel that amazon should list the contents of books (on the book info page), especally books that contain full texts such as books that contain apocrypha, woulnd'nt that be handy? if you think so contact them and say so...

oh and rest of the book has had much care and attention payed to it as well, very worth the money! a bargin!
