1675 CE: Great Swamp Fight; Colonists attack Narragansett stronghold, killing over 600, mainly women and children; Narragansetts then join war.
 
 
1676 CE: Lancaster Raid; Mary Rowlandson taken captive.
 
 
1676 CE: Sudbury Fight; last Native American victory of the war.
 
 
1676 CE: Battle of Mount Hope; King Philip (Metacom) is betrayed and killed.
