Bob Blanton has been an avid reader ever since his mother first took him to a library at age five. He toyed with writing for years after finishing college, but was always too busy to complete a novel. While working for Hewlett Packard Co. and traveling on long business trips to Singapore, Europe, and India, Bob wrote books in his head. After he retired to the beach in Mexico, the only things that competed with writing were the sound of the ocean and sunsets over the water, so he was actually able to finish writing the books he started. Bob completed his first three books, the Stone Series, and he has been working on the Delphi in Space series for the past two years. Now that he has started to publish his series, he hopes you enjoy reading them as much as he has enjoyed writing them. Check back for other books as he continues to ply his new trade.

Bob was born in Augsburg, Germany, the son of a U.S. soldier and a German national. His father moved the family back to the U.S. when Bob was six months old. As a child, his family moved almost every year until Bob was fourteen, but they managed to stay in Colorado Springs, CO, for three years before his father retired from the military. The family moved to Noble, OK, just south of Norman and the University of Oklahoma, where Bob attended college. He raced to the west coast as soon as he graduated, and lived in San Diego, CA, for over thirty years while working as an engineer and manager at HP. After retiring, Bob and his wife moved a few miles south to Mexico where they are enjoying their home on the ocean.

That battle sequence has you so full of tension I felt like I was skin my breath as everything played out. Definitely worth all the build up. Adrenaline and anxiety reading all that action. What an exciting and excellent battle sequence. I can’t wait to read the next one. This series is beyond epic and I hope we get this in another medium though I worry it couldn’t do it justice. Would be exciting to see though in some way. Kind of like classic X-men versus uncanny X-men. Same characters a little different story arc. Would be super cool to see all the technology. Such an epic series. Must read for sure. I’m so happy it’s so long as I’m zooming through these. Epic series.

Blanton doesn't make it a given, he shows the many thought processes and hurdles which must be overcome to bring the earth governments to ally together besides the science and bringing people to help. He brings it all to the table, and without having to sully it with gratuitous foul speech or sexually inapropriate subject matter. He touches on some things in a way I find very exceptable. I feel very comfortable with it as a while and have already pitched the books to my young teen son's to read. It's hard to believe he has only 3 people to bounce ideas off. I absolutely, thoroughly enjoyed it!

Book 4 salvaged my respect for the series. Book 5 has my fervor for this series’, with it’s innovative handling of “Alien invasion of Earth”, restored and anxious for the next sequel. I’m glad I persevered in my reluctance to quit an interesting new series. Kudos to the Authors.

This series has adequate character development and a reasonable story arc, but does push the limits of believability fairly often. Feels rushed at times. Huge marks for some very careful thinking about the practical physics of being in space - but round numbers of casualties in battle after battle? And no parent would be letting Catie do all the stuff she does at that age. But it is entertaining, fairly well written in terms of grammar and spelling, and certainly better than a lot of the indulgent codling that passes for parenting these days!

And also was obsessions that the USA and is some evil force that need to be dealt with.

Again great storyline good story It’s just that the propaganda that she would be being pushed and everything today we just can’t leave politics out.

This is a great addition to the series and really like how it’s developing from earth to off world to outer space and hopefully beyond.

Characters are still pretty good and definitely a focus on Catie here. She’s coming along and at times you have to really stop and remember she’s only 13/14 due to her interactions.

It isn’t grating just shows how everyone accepts the genius in there midst.

There touches of humour which add to the story and it cracks along at pace. Also the battle is done well as you can imagine some of the Delphinean errors happening due to lack of knowledge around space battles.

Its hard to really describe the book as being really good while also having to point out some very glaring weaknesses. Though the development and writing are fairly solid, it is a bit amateurish with descriptions and many scenes that sort of paint a bland background while mostly focusing on expositional dialog.
A lot of the interactions are also fairly skewed by an apparent political bias. All big government is bad unless its my big government that only works because I have alien technology, several Mary Sue characters and an ability to only be surrounded by selfless people no matter their back ground.
It hurts the immersion over all from a people watchers perspective. A lot of the main plots through out the series are hinged on people acting exactly as they are stereotyped by a specific political lean. It is fiction though so I guess that's OK.
The series so far has nothing overtly thought provoking or any hugely engaging aspects. You can easily jump in and out and that makes it a fairly easy read.
Editing is done pretty well.
I would say this is probably a solid entry level series for youth to get into Science Fiction.
